Apartment in Siglap

This rare post-WWII walk-up apartment in Singapore, at just 50 square meters (540 sq ft), was reimagined to maximize space and reflect the owners' love for vintage and bold retro textures and colors. By removing the parapet wall and building a raised slab over the stair void, a kitchen now seamlessly connects to the living area, creating a functional space for cooking and hosting. The bathroom was expanded to include a vanity and laundry area, while the bedroom was reconfigured for the owner’s needs. Deadstock tiles were used, paired with plywood stained to match old furniture salvaged by the owners. The existing terrazzo flooring was carefully restored as a homage to the old apartment.
